Math Can Be So Much Fun

You don’t have to even add up your groceries you buy in the supermarket, because the cashier and her computer is doing for you. And who wants to do it in their head only to find out that we were wrong and the computer can do it much faster?
Even when controlling our income and expenses at home or at work we use a spreadsheet, just because it is so conveneint. It seems there is simply no need to add numbers in our head anymore. However, technology has one pitfall: we as a nation hardly have a feel for numbers at all anymore.
The current financial crisis a perfect example that figures lie and liars figure, and most people don’t even know what the figures were supposed to mean in the first place. It is time to learn math again or at least teach our children so that they will be able to deal with an economic environment that will likely be very different than ours.
There are many cool math games you can play with your kids. This way they learn to deal with numbers instead of being afraid of them.
