How to describe perfume

 

The usual way of describing a fragrances is using the elements of the fragrance notes. We use a musical language to describe the perfume, and this is called the fragrance notes. This musical methaphor has 3 types of notes, the top notes, the middle notes and the base notes. This is then called the mermonius scent accord. You can use these notes to describe all type of perfume, like the Eau de Parfum Women and Eau de Toilette.

The top notes is the scents that are perceived immediately on application of a perfume. Top notes consist of small, light molecules that evaporate fast. They form a person’s initial scent of a perfume and thus are very important in the selling of a perfume. Also called the head notes.

The middle notes are the scent of a fragrances that emerges just before the top notes dissipate. The middle note compounds form the heart of a perfume and act to mask the often unpleasant first impression of the base notes, which become more pleasant with some time. These notes are also called the heart notes.

The base notes are the scent of a fragrances that appears close to the departure of the middle notes. The base and middle notes together are the main part of a fragrances. Base notes bring soldity to a fragrances. Compounds of this class of scents are typically deep and are typically not perceived until half an hour after use.

The scents of the base notes will be altered by the type of fragrance materials used as middle notes. Manufacturers of perfume typically publish fragrances notes and typically they present it as fragrance pyramid, with the components listed in imaginative and abstract terms.
